The bus driver is responsible for student safety on the bus as well as at bus stops, and has the
authority to enforce rules of safety. Because we do not compromise student safety, the following
rules are provided. Failure to follow school bus rules may result in the loss of riding privileges.
Students Must:

1. Arrive at the bus stop five (5) minutes before the bus is scheduled.
2. Use designated bus stop. Once the driver has left the designated bus stop, he/she is not
authorized to stop at any other location.
3. As the bus arrives, students must stay in line (line must form to the opposite direction of
the bus), standing at least twelve (12) feet back from the curb. Students must not move
toward the bus until it has come to a complete stop and the driver has opened the door.
4. Orderly behavior is required at the bus stop.
5. Obey the driver.
6. Upon entering the bus, find a seat quickly and remain seated at all times, facing front
while the bus is in motion. If bus is equipped with seat belts, students must wear them.
7. Talk Quietly - Shouting, yelling, boisterous behavior, or any unnecessary loud noise is
prohibited.
8. No littering, vandalism, or throwing anything out of the bus.
9. No eating, drinking and/or gum chewing.
10. No animals - (mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, insects, etc.), glass objects, skateboards,
balloons, or hazardous articles of any kind on the bus. Large items that will not fit on the
seats, obstructing the aisle and representing a hazard, may not be carried on to the bus.
11. Stay in your seat at all times.
12. Always wear shoes on the bus - no bare feet. (Exception: Cleats/spikes may not be worn
aboard the bus.)
13. Students must never play or tamper with any part of the bus or its equipment.
14. Passengers should remain quiet when the bus stops and as it is crossing the railroad
tracks.
15. When exiting the bus, follow your driver's instructions.
16. Parents may assist their children to enter and exit the bus, but parents are not allowed to
come inside of the bus.
