In this half-day summer intercession choir class, students strengthen their vocal skills and musicianship through ensemble singing in a supportive and collaborative setting. Students focus on healthy vocal technique, listening skills, and musical expression while working together as a choir. Throughout the course, students practice skills such as proper posture and breathing, pitch accuracy, harmony, blend and balance, following a conductor, and basic music literacy. Rehearsals include vocal warm-ups, part-singing, and age-appropriate repertoire designed to build confidence and teamwork. The week culminates in a short informal performance for families, where students showcase selected songs and celebrate their growth as ensemble singers. This course fosters musical growth, collaboration, and a deeper appreciation for choral music.
