Do you like movies? Perfect. This camp is for you! In this high-energy filmmaking adventure, we’ll take the idea of making a whole lot of something out of nothing and turn it into full-blown summer blockbuster short films, starting with… well, nothing at all. Campers will invent original stories, write scripts, scout locations, film scenes, and design props, costumes, and special effects faster and furiouser than anyone in the history of cinema. Along the way, we’ll study glorious science fiction short films for inspiration, because nothing says blockbuster like ALIENS. From suspense to spectacle, we’ll borrow the bold ideas of sci-fi storytelling and remix them into wildly original creations. This is indie filmmaking at its finest. A spooky flick starring evil googly-eyed potatoes? No problem. A musical called Croc Rock featuring dance numbers in slip-resistant footwear? I feel it. A disaster movie where kids must save the world from a mutant bread loaf that eats glitter and barfs rainbow slime? Say no more. Grab a camera, fire up your imagination, and get ready to make movie magic out of thin air.
