In our Build-a-City Camp, students become young designers and city planners as they imagine, design, and build their own miniature city using resources of the new Design Building. Working in small teams, campers will create different parts of a city—such as homes, parks, bridges, schools, shops, and community spaces—using a variety of hands-on materials like cardboard, building blocks, craft supplies, and simple tools. Each day introduces a fun design challenge (for example, “Design a playground everyone can use” or “Build a bridge that can hold weight”), helping students learn problem-solving, teamwork, and creative thinking in an age-appropriate way. Campers will sketch ideas, build models, test their designs, and make improvements—just like real engineers and architects. The camp concludes with a City Showcase, where families are invited to see the finished city and celebrate students’ creativity and collaboration. This half-day camp is perfect for students who love building, imagining, and creating—no prior experience needed!
