Incoming Grade 4 students strengthen analytical thinking and academic skills through integrated instruction. In reading, students engage in a class novel study focused on character development and theme, supporting their ideas with evidence from the text through discussions and journal responses. In writing, students refine narrative writing through drafting and revision, developing strong characters, settings, and plots with clear conflict and resolution. Math instruction deepens understanding of place value, large numbers, and decimals while emphasizing multi-step problem-solving. Students also strengthen their understanding of fractions, decimals, and percentages through visual models and number lines.
