Incoming Grade 3 students build independence and critical thinking through deeper academic study. In reading, students participate in novel studies, summarizing key story elements, analyzing characters, and exploring how authors use figurative language. In writing, students craft well-developed narratives using clear event sequences, rich details, and a strong sense of closure. They revise and edit their work for grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Math instruction occurs in differentiated groups focused on problem-solving and fluency. Students explore multiplication, division, multi-digit operations, fundamentals of geometry, and fractions through hands-on activities, games, and real-world applications.
