In this hands-on course, students will dive into the fundamentals of sewing and design. The journey begins with an in-depth introduction to the sewing machine, where students will learn essential skills such as threading the machine and bobbin, performing basic stitching techniques (straight stitching, backstitching, sewing at a seam allowance, and pivoting), and practicing these foundational methods to build confidence. Next, students will bring their creative visions to life by laying out and cutting patterns for two exciting projects: a reversible tote bag they’ll design themselves and a comfortable pair of pajama bottoms. Participants will master techniques like pinning, pressing seams, and sewing, while developing both precision and creativity.
Students will proudly take home their completed projects—a testament to their hard work, new skills, and artistic flair!
