This enrichment activity introduces Grade 4 and 5 students to the exciting world of digital design and journalism using Canva. Students will learn how to create eye-catching graphics, presentations, posters, newsletters, and more while exploring the fundamentals of visual communication and storytelling. They will also experiment with digital journalism by designing articles, interviews, and reports that share ideas and information with a wider audience. Through hands-on projects, they will develop skills in layout, color, typography, and narrative flow, all while expressing their creativity in meaningful ways. Collaboration and peer feedback will play an important role, encouraging students to share ideas and refine their designs. By the end of the course, students will have built a digital portfolio showcasing their work and will gain confidence in using design and journalism as powerful tools for communication and self-expression.
