Do you love to doodle? In this workshop, limited to ten participants to ensure individual attention, students will be inspired by great American, Italian, French, and Japanese Masters. Rembrandt’s simple and intricate sketches, etchings and engravings, precursors to his paintings and previously on display at the Denver Art Museum, will be presented to students and they will learn the ways that he used a highly personal view of the world around him to fuel his artistic journey, encouraging them to bring their own unique visions to life through printmaking. Basic and multilayered techniques of printmaking will be explored, as students craft a series of intaglio engravings using multicolored, water-soluble printing inks. Participants are always encouraged to progress at a very comfortable rate – sophisticated drawing skills are honed with time and practice, and result in the ability to create more complex prints!
