Unleash your creativity as we learn about artists whose drawings evolved into sculptures! This is actually a common progression in art, and people like Jean-Michel Basquiat, Louise Bourgeois (‘Give or Take” featuring abstractly modeled hands, and “Spider”), Dale Chihuly, Lenore Tawney (woven forms) and Rodin who created base drawings prior to sculpting, using the sketches as inspiration. We will explore a wide variety of techniques, including the addition of “found” materials, to bring our pieces to creative life! This uplifting workshop is open to students in Grades 1 through 8, as each young artist works at his/her own pace, and we are encouraged by one another.
